Empowered Parent Series: Technology, Privacy, and Ethics

Karen Rezach, Director of the Ethics Institute, and Kimberly Pearson, Director of Technology, recently hosted “Balancing Technology, Privacy, and Ethics” as a part of the Empowered Parent series.

A packed room of parents listened as Dr. Rezach and Mrs. Pearson discussed how students are leveraging AI in the classroom: from brainstorming ideas for an essay title, to designing art based on text input. We’re in a paradigm shift with technology and education, they said, similar to when computers were introduced to schools, but on an even larger scale.

During the second session of this series, the group further discussed the presence of AI in the lives of our children, the skills they must develop in order to navigate their world, and the questions we must ask as we prepare them to be the ethical leaders of tomorrow.
